Dr. Susan Lim of Singapore has served many patients throughout her career. With the lives that have been changed because of her efforts, her patients have taken to the web to share their story and experience with Dr. Susan Lim. One story that made headlines was the first liver transplant in Asia. Both the patient, Surinder Kaur, and her son have posted their appreciation for her work.
Surinder Kaur Shares Perspective On Dr. Susan Lim
When Surinder arrived at the hospital, the 26-year-old was balding, suffering from liver cirrhosis and jaundice. She was given six months to live by doctors until Dr. Susan Lim offered her the opportunity to be the first liver transplant patient in Asia. Although she took the opportunity, she had no money to pay Dr. Susan Lim nor the hospital expenses associated with the surgery. Dr. Lim raised the $150,000 needed to pay for the hospital costs and medications, and provided her own services and on-going follow-up visits at no charge at all. Her generosity and compassion for her patients doesn't end there.

Dr. Susan Lim - An Unborn Life Saved
Six years after the surgery, Surinder found out through Dr. Susan Lim that she was pregnant. This was the dream that Surinder once thought was lost. Throughout the life of Melvinder Singh and his mother, Surinder, Dr. Susan Lim of Singapore remains involved. Melvinder shares, "Dr Lim took care of my mother day and night during her pregnancy till she delivered me in 1996. Dr Lim has never charged my mother any fees. On top of that, Dr. Lim has supported me with two bursary awards to help with my education."
Dr. Susan Lim's care and compassion has long been demonstrated, and her patients have been willing to provide their perspective of that special person that changed their lives.
